Day 1  

Departure from the USA bound for Costa Rica!  

San Jose   We fly to the historic capital of Costa Rica.

 

Day 2

San Jose  We drive to Poas Volcano to marvel at the stunning views from the lookout point. We look down 1000 feet to the geysers below in this still active volcano. We then drive through lush countryside to Sarchi, where we enjoy the quaint charm of this old colonial town.
 

Monteverde Cloud Forest   Our morning sightseeing takes us to the National Museum, with its famous collection of pre-Columbian art, and the Teatro Nacional.

We continue on to the spectacular reserve of Monteverde.
 

Monteverde Cloud Forest   Today we marvel in the lush grandeur of this beautiful cloud forest – founded by some Quakers from Alabama in the fifties! It provides a haven for more than 400 species of birds, 100 species of mammals and 2500 varieties of plants. A full day to explore this treasure trove of flora and fauna.
 

Jaco Beach   This morning we journey to the Carara Biological Reserve, where the very different ecosystems of the dry tropical forest and the more lush Northern forest.

Then we arrive in Jaco Beach in time to swim in the Pacific Ocean.

Jaco Beach   Our guide takes us on a relaxing trip through the Manuel Antonio National Park – following forest trails, with time to relax on its white beaches. Keep an eye open for iguanas and toucans.

Day 7

San Jose   We spend the morning at leisure on the black sands of Jaco Beach, before returning to San Jose for our last night.
