Day 1  

Departure from the USA bound for Italy!

Day 2

Venice   We are met by our European Institute Tour Director and accompanied to our centrally located hotel, before we begin exploring this incredible city.

Venice   This morning we have an in depth walking tour of the city with our local guide, where we visit the Basilica of Saint Mark, the Doges Palace, cross through the inside of the Bridge of Sighs and down into the prison from where Casanova made his daring escape.

Florence Area   Today, we head south via the imposing city of Padova and the tomb of Saint Anthony.

We continue to the city of Ravenna to visit the mosaics at the Church of San Vitale and then on to one of Tuscany's best kept secrets - Lucca.

Lucca   Today we have a morning excursion to Florence , where we have an in depth city tour with our local guide to see Michelangelo's David, the Duomo, the Signoria Square and the Santa Croce Church.

Later we return to Lucca and marvel at the Gothic cathedral.

Siena   We arrive in Pisa to see the remarkable Leaning Tower, recently opened to the public. After time to enjoy the medieval square, we continue to the delightful San Gimignano, where we pause for lunch.

It's a short picturesque drive to Siena for our overnight.

Siena  We see the famous Palio Square, Piazza dell Campo and the magnificent cathedral and enjoy a morning in the quaint streets before traveling on to Rome.

This evening our Tour Director leads us on a Walking Tour of medieval Rome - from the Spanish Steps, past the Trevi Fountain to the Pantheon.

Rome   This morning we have an in depth city sightseeing tour with our local guide, including entrances to the Vatican Museum, the Sistine Chapel and the Coliseum.

We also visit Saint Peter's Basilica and the Pantheon. This afternoon is free to shop for those last minute gifts and souvenirs.

This evening we have our farewell dinner in an Opera restaurant where not only do we have a fabulous meal but also are serenaded by professional opera singers, the perfect way to end our Viaggio Italiano!
