Day 1  

Departure from the USA bound for England!

Day 2

London   We are met by our European Institute Tour Director and accompanied to our centrally located hotel, before we begin exploring this incredible city.

 

Day 3

London   Enjoy a guided sightseeing tour as our local guide introduces the many faces of London, finishing with the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace.

 

Day 4

Paris   This morning we board Europe's newest train, the Eurostar, for Paris.

 

This afternoon our local guide introduces us Paris finishing with a visit to one of Europe's most beautiful cathedrals, Notre Dame.

 

This evening we take you to the top of the Eiffel Tower for a 'bird's eye view' of the city!

 

Day 5

Paris   Our day commences with a visit to Louis XIV's Versailles. Our tour takes us through the 250 foot long hall of mirrors and the royal apartments to the magnificent gardens and Marie Antoinette's Petit Hameau.

 

This evening a romantic Seine river cruise is included.

 

Day 6

Train   This morning a visit is included to the Louvre Museum. The we board our overnight train for the blue waters of the Cote d'Azur.

 

Day 7

Nice   Learn about Nice's Italian heritage as our Tour Director leads us on a walking tour of the Old Town.

 

Day 8

Nice   Travel the spectacular coastline route to the principality of Monaco, one of the smallest countries in Europe. We will also take a trip to the highest cliff-top village in France, Eze.

 

Day 9

Provence  Journey to Provence, stopping at the largest free standing Roman aqueduct in Europe, the Pont du Gard. Next to the Roman city of Nimes featuring its great amphitheatre, gardens and the Maison Carr้e (square house).

 

Day 10

Barcelona  Travel across to the unspoilt medieval fortress of Carcassonne. Learn how this bastion repelled invaders through the centuries with its walled defenses.

 

Day 11

Barcelona   Barcelona, host of the 1992 Olympic Games, abounds in historical sights including the magnificent Cathedral, which we visit with our local guide, the old Gothic Quarter and Gaudi's unusual Sagrada Familia Church.

 

Day 12

Madrid   Journey through the countryside of Aragon and Castille to the capital of Spain, Madrid.

 

Day 13

Madrid   Our local guide introduces us to her Madrid. After lunch, we are moved by Picasso's Guernica at the Reina Sofia Museum.

 

Day 14 Return to the USA.
