Day 1  

Departure from the USA bound for France!

Day 2

Paris   We are met by our European Institute Tour Director and accompanied to our centrally located hotel, before we begin exploring this incredible city.
 

Day 3

Paris   Today our local guide introduces us to Napoleon's grand Arc de Triomphe, the famous Champs Elysées, Place de la Concorde steeped in France's turbulent history, magnificent Place Vendome and finish our tour with a visit to one of Europe's most beautiful cathedrals, Notre Dame.

 

After lunch a visit is included to the Louvre Museum. This evening we take we to top of the Eiffel Tower for a 'bird's eye view' of the city!

 

Day 4

Provence   Enjoy the beautiful countryside as we travel through France's heartland aboard the high speed Train à Grande Vitesse (TGV) to beautiful Provence. Lunch will be at the walled city of Avignon, where we will visit the Palace of the Popes.

 

Day 5

Provence  Provence was named once the Roman's had completed the invasion of this 'Province'. We will be visiting the Roman city of Nimes featuring its great amphitheatre, gardens and the Maison Carrée.

 

On to the largest free standing Roman aqueduct in Europe, the Pont du Gard for lunch.
 

Day 6

Nice   This morning we meander through the hills of Provence to see the hill top castle of Les Baux de Provence.

We will stop for lunch in Aix-en-Provence before continuing to the blue waters of the Cote d'Azur and the resort of Nice.
 

Day 7

Nice   Our panoramic tour includes the lively Promenade des Anglais and the ornate Russian Orthodox Church. Later this morning we travel the spectacular coastline route to the principality of Monaco, one of the smallest countries in Europe.

 

We will also take a trip to the highest cliff-top village in France, Eze.

 

Day 8

Nice   This morning's visit takes we to the artists haven of St. Paul de Vence where the cobbled streets are lined with painters workshops. We will also visit the Maeght Foundation, a marvellous collection of modern art, and the serene Chapelle Matisse, designed by the master himself.

 

Day 9 Return to the USA.
