Day 1 |
Departure from the USA bound for
France! |

Day 2 |
Paris
We are met by
our European Institute Tour Director and accompanied to
our centrally located hotel, before we begin to explore
this incredible city.

Day 3 |
Paris
Our local guide introduces us to Napoleon's grand Arc
de Triomphe, the famous Champs Elysιes,
Place de la Concorde, magnificent Place Vendome
and we visit Notre Dame.
After lunch a
visit is included to the Louvre Museum.
This evening
we take to the top of the Eiffel Tower for a
'bird's eye view' of the city!

Day 4 |
Paris
Our day commences with a visit to Louis XIV's
Versailles. Our tour takes us through the 250 foot
long hall of mirrors and the royal apartments to the
magnificent gardens and Marie Antoinette's Petit
Hameau.

Day 5 |
Paris Today we will have the
option to explore this city further or join our
excursion to the Loire Valley.
Our first stop is at
Chartres Cathedral (Malcolm Miller tour when
available).
The town of
Amboise sits on the bank of the river Loire
and is dominated by the medieval castle. Chenonceau,
is the most charming of the chateaux.
We also visit
Azay-le-Rideau whose gothic exterior is a
sight to behold.

Day 6 |
Provence Travel to
beautiful Provence by TGV. Lunch will be
at the walled city of Avignon, where we will
visit the Palace of the Popes.

Day 7 |
Provence
We will be visiting the Roman city of Nimes, its
amphitheatre, gardens and the Maison Carrιe
(square house). On to the Pont du Gard for lunch.
Continue to the lively resort of Nice.

Day 8 |
Barcelona Journey
through the Languedoc region of France and
across the border into the Catalan region of
Spain's capital, Barcelona.
|
|
Day 9 |
Train
Our Barcelona sightseeing with our local guide
includes the old Gothic Quarter with
visits to the magnificent Cathedral and
Gaudi's unusual Sagrada Familia.
This evening
we board our overnight train to Seville, capital
of Andalucia and one of the most charming cities
in Spain.

Day 10 |
Seville
This morning we experience the magic of Seville
with a local guide. Tonight enjoy our included
Flamenco evening.

Day 11 |
Seville
We follow the fertile valley of the River
Guadalquivir this morning to Cordoba, where
our local guide shows us the magnificent 8th-century
Mosque of the Caliphs, famous for its 850 pillars of
porphyry, marble and jasper.

Day 12 |
Granada
Today we travel to glorious Granada where our
local guide shows us the impressive Alhambra Palace
where we see the original fortress of the Alazabar,
and the lush Generalife water gardens.
|
|
Day 13 |
Madrid
This morning we visit El Greco's Toledo. Our
local guide shows us the Cathedral and the
Church of Santo Tome and leaves us free time to
explore the quaint, medieval Old Town.
Continue to Spain's
magnificent capital, Madrid.

Day 14 |
Madrid
Our local guide introduces us to her Madrid, the
Palacio Real, Puerto del Sol, and we finish
with a visit to the Prado museum where we can
admire the works of Goya, El Greco and
Velasquez.
After lunch, we are
moved by Picasso's Guernica at the Reina Sofia
Museum.
