Day 1 |
Departure from the USA bound for
Germany! |

Day 2 |
Berlin
We are met by
our European Institute Tour Director and taken to our
centrally located hotel ready to start exploring
Berlin.

Day 3 |
Berlin
Our local guide introduces us to this formerly divided
city. Our tour includes views of the Brandenburg Gate,
the State Opera House, the old Berlin Wall
and the Reichstag Building (restored after
destruction by the tragic fire of 1933).
Then, a special visit to the Pergamon Museum,
which houses one of Europe's most precious art
collections.

Day 4 |
Dresden
We travel south today through what was once East
Germany to Leipzig to visit Bach's Thomas-Kirche
and see the medieval Market Square.
We continue to
Dresden, the former capital of Saxony located
on the Elbe River, where we see the Semper
Opera and the Zwinger Palace.

Day 5 |
Munich Today, we travel to
Rothenburg to visit this walled village
before heading south along the Romantic Road to
Munich.
|

Day 6 |
Munich Sightseeing
with our local guide includes views the Olympic
Stadium, Frauenkirche and the famous
Glockenspiel in the Marienplatz town hall
square.

Day 7 |
Munich
Today you can choose to either explore Munich
further or join our excursion to King Ludwig's
magnificent castle of Neuschwanstein (inspiration
for the Disney castle).
We then visit the nearby Wieskirche, with its
incredibly ornate
decorations before heading to Oberammergau, home
of the famous Passion play.

Day 8 |
Heidelberg Area Today,
we follow the German Alpine Road to Lake
Constance with a visit to romantic, medieval
Lindau. Then continue through the Black Forest
to Heidelberg to visit the imposing Heidelberg
Castle.

Day 9 |
Return to the USA. |
