Departure from the USA bound for
Greece! |

Day 2 |
Athens
Arrival in
Athens, the cradle of Western civilization. We are
met by our European Institute tour director, who
transfers us to our centrally located hotel.

Day 3 |
Athens
Half day city sightseeing with local guide introduces us
to the Acropolis, the Parthenon,
the Theater of Dionysus and the Greek
Parliament.
Later, stroll in the colorful markets and charming
alleys of the Plaka district.
|

Day 4 |
Athens
Full day excursion to one of Greece's highlights,
Delphi. High in the mountains above the Gulf of
Corinth, Delphi was the home of the Oracle,
famous for her ability to predict the future.
After a visit to the temple of Apollo, we return
to our hotel, after a leisurely stop in a charming Greek
village for lunch.

Day 5 |
Cruise
Board your cruise ship at Piraeus, Athens' lively
port. Sail off into the blue Aegean Sea, dropping
anchor in the late afternoon at Mykonos.
The rugged shoreline provides the perfect backdrop for
the picturesque whitewashed cottages and windmills of
the island.

Day 6 |
Cruise
Next stop is the Turkish village of Kusadasi, now
a bustling center of European tourism followed by the
far flung isle of Patmos.
Visit the sparkling white town below the Monastery of
Saint John, and share the sea views enjoyed by
Saint John, author of the apocalyptic Book of
Revelations, written here during his exile from the
Roman Empire.

Day 7 |
Cruise A
relaxing full-day on the Island of Roses,
Rhodes. A chance to explore the conflicting legacies
of the crusading Knights of Saint John, and
Suleiman the Magnificent's Ottoman Empire, medieval
churches, mosques , minarets and vibrant markets.
|

Day 8 |
Cruise
Dock in Heraklion , the capital of Crete,
home of the fabled Minotaur, all that
remains of the legendary continent of Atlantis -
the beautiful island of Santorini.
The narrow streets and white-washed houses, clinging to
the steep cliffs, make this perhaps the most beautiful
of the Greek isles.

Day 9 |
Athens
After disembarking at Athens, we go on an
excursion to Cape Sounion to view the ancient
Temple of Poseidon set on a spectacular coastal
headland.
Return to Athens
for a free afternoon to explore.

Return to the USA. |
