Day 1 |
Departure from the USA bound for
Italy! |

Day 2 |
Venice
Arrival in
Venice where we are met by our European Institute
Tour Director, who transfers us to our centrally located
hotel for your arrival briefing.

Day 3 |
Venice
This morning we have an in depth walking tour of the
city with our local guide, where we visit the
Basilica of Saint Mark, the Doge's Palace,
cross through the inside of the Bridge of Sighs
and down into the prison from where Casanova made
his daring escape.

Day 4 |
Florence Area
Today we head south via the imposing city of Padua
and the tomb of Saint Anthony.
We continue to the city of Ravenna to visit the
mosaics at the Church of San Vitale.
|

Day 5 |
Florence Area
This morning we have an in depth city tour with our
local guide where we visit the Accademia museum,
the Duomo, the Signoria Square and the
Santa Croce church.
This afternoon there is the opportunity to take an
optional tour either to Siena or Pisa,
with its recently reopened Leaning Tower.

Day 6 |
Rome This morning we visit
the wonderfully restored Basilica of Saint Francis
in Assisi with its awe-inspiring frescoes by
Giotto.
We then continue past Umbrian hilltop villages to
Rome, the eternal city.
This evening,
our tour director takes us on a Walking Tour to
see the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, and
the Pantheon.

Day 7 |
Rome This morning we have
an in depth city sightseeing tour with our local guide,
including entrances to the Vatican Museums, the
Sistine Chapel and the Coliseum. We also
visit Saint Peter's Basilica and the Pantheon.

|
Day 8 |
Rome Today we may choose
to explore some more of ancient Rome's treasures or to
take the optional excursion to the impressive Roman
remains at Ostia Antica and the Renaissance grace
of the gardens at Villa d'Este in Tivoli.
Our farewell dinner is at a restaurant where we
eat like kings and queens but also experience the power
of Italian Opera. Professional opera singers sing
many famous songs and arias to us. The perfect way to
end our European Institute Vacation.
