Day 1 |
Departure from the USA bound for
Italy! |

Day 2 |
Rome
We are met by our European Institute Tour Director and
accompanied to our centrally located hotel, before we
begin exploring this incredible city.

Day 3 |
Rome
This morning we have an in depth city sightseeing tour
with our local guide, including entrances to the
Vatican Museums, the Sistine Chapel
and the Coliseum. We also visit Saint
Peter's Basilica and the Pantheon.
This evening our tour director leads us on a Walking
Tour of baroque and medieval Rome - from Spanish
Steps, to Trevi Fountain and the
Pantheon.

Day 4 |
Florence
A scenic drive to Assisi where we visit the
wonderfully restored Basilica of Saint Francis
with its awe-inspiring frescoes by Giotto.
We then continue north past Lake Trasimeno to
Florence.

Day 5 |
Florence This morning we
discover the cradle of the Renaissance, Florence.
With our local guide we learn about the philosophy
behind Michelangelo's David at the Accademia
Museum and also see the Duomo, Signoria Square
and Santa Croce.
This afternoon is free to explore the art treasures at
the Uffizi.

Day 6-7 |
Cinque
Terre Area
We travel to one of the most compelling sights in Europe
- the Cinque Terre, five remote coastal towns set
on the stunning Mediterranean coast.
We overnight in the area with plenty of time to enjoy
the dolce vita and unwind.

Day 8 |
Italian Lakes A highlight
of our trip is today's boat ride on Lake
Maggiore to see the magnificent 17th century palace
of the Borromeos on Isola Bella. The
peacocks in the famous hanging gardens are an
unforgettable sight.
We drive through the luxurious resort town of Stresa
, with the Swiss Alps in the background. Continue
on to our relaxing overnight stay in the lakes.
