Day 1 |
Departure from the USA bound for
Italy! |

Day 2 |
Sorrento
We are met by
our European Institute Tour Director and transfer
through the beautiful landscapes of the Campania
countryside that lead to the Amalfi coast.

Day 3 |
Sorrento
Journey along the coast to the ancient city of
Paestum, home to some of world's best-preserved
Greek temples.
We continue along the spectacular coast to Amalfi.

Day 4 |
Sorrento
Today we journey to the flourishing city of Naples
where we visit the Archaeological Museum.
Next we sail with off across the Bay of Naples to
the beautiful island of Capri. Here we have the
opportunity to visit the Blue Grotto (weather
permitting).
We also visit Capri Town and to explore this
beautiful island further.

Day 5 |
Rome
Today, we build on what we learnt at the
Archaeological Museum when we visit the ancient city
of Pompeii with our local guide. This
archaeological marvel gives us a window into the past -
so rudely interrupted by the eruption of brooding
Mount Vesuvius.
Later we drive on past Monte Cassino to the
eternal city - Rome!

Day 6 |
Rome This morning we have
an in depth city sightseeing tour with our local guide,
including entrances to the Vatican Museums, the
Sistine Chapel and the Coliseum. We also
visit Saint Peter's Basilica and the Pantheon.
This evening
our tour director takes us on a Walking Tour to
see the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, and
the Pantheon.

Day 7 |
Rome This morning we learn
about the incredible Roman Empire. On our walking
tour we see the Coliseum, the Roman Forum,
the unique Trajan Market, the Pantheon and
the remarkable Column of Marcus Aurelius.
This afternoon perhaps choose to visit the remarkable
4th century basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore.

Day 8 |
Rome You may choose to
stay in Rome, or join us on our high speed train
excursion to Florence. Here we discover the
Cradle of the Renaissance, Florence.
With our local guide we learn about the philosophy
behind Michelangelo's David at the Accademia
Museum and also see the Duomo, Signoria Square
and Santa Croce. We have free time to
explore before our return to Rome.
Our
farewell dinner is at a restaurant where we eat like
kings and queens but also experience the power of
Italian Opera. Professional opera singers sing many
famous songs and arias to us. The perfect way to end our
European Institute Vacation.
