Departure from the USA bound for England!

Day 2

London   We are met by our European Institute Tour Director and accompanied to our centrally located hotel, before we begin exploring this incredible city.

London   Our local guide introduces the many faces of London. We will see magnificent Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, Trafalgar Square, Westminster Abbey and finish off with the pageantry of the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace.

London   On our way to Bath we visit the ancient edifice of Stonehenge. Our sightseeing of Bath includes a visit to the ancient Roman Baths and sumptuous Pump Rooms.

Paris   This morning we board Europe's newest train, the incredible Eurostar. A smooth ride through the English and French countryside takes us in a short time to Paris.

This afternoon our local guide introduces us to Paris. This evening we take we to top of the Eiffel Tower for a 'bird's eye view' of the city!

Paris   A memorable visit to Versailles, including Marie Antoinette's Petit Hameau.

This evening a romantic Seine river cruise is included.

Train   This morning a visit is included to the Louvre Museum, including Da Vinci's masterpiece the Mona Lisa. Board our overnight train to Rome.

Rome  Our local guide proudly shows us the Colosseum, the Sistine Chapel, the Vatican Museum, and St. Peter's- mother church of the Catholic faith.

Later our tour director leads us on a Walking Tour to the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon.

Sorrento Area  We visit the celebrated ruins of Pompeii, under the baleful eye of Mt. Vesuvius, as we drive down the Amalfi coast to charming Sorrento. Perhaps take a moment to watch the passeggiato over a gelato in Piazza Tasso, or shop for souvenirs in the Old Town?

Steamer We drive across the spine of Italy to Bari where we board the ferry to Patras in Greece.

Athens   After docking in Patras, we travel to Delphi, home of the legendary oracle of Apollo, under Mt. Parnassus, mythical home of the Gods. Then we journey on past the lush olive groves to our centrally located hotel in Athens.

Athens   Half day city sightseeing with local guide introduces us to the Acropolis, the Parthenon, the National Archaeological Museum, the Theater of Dionysus and the Greek Parliament.

Later, we stroll in the colorful markets and charming alleys of the Plaka district.
