Day 1 |
Departure from the USA bound for
Spain! |

Day 2 |
Barcelona
We are met by our European Institute Tour Director and
accompanied to our centrally located hotel, before we
begin exploring this incredible city.

Day 3 |
Barcelona
Barcelona, host of the 1992 Olympic Games,
abounds in historical sights including the magnificent
Cathedral, which we visit with our local guide,
the old Gothic Quarter and Gaudi's
unusual Sagrada Familia Church.

Day 4 |
Provence
Enjoy the beautiful countryside as we travel across the
border to France and beautiful Provence. Lunch
will be at the unspoilt medieval fortress of
Carcassonne. Learn how this bastion repelled
invaders through the centuries with its walled defenses.

Day 5 |
Provence
Provence was so named once the Roman’s had completed
their invasion of this ‘Province’. We will be
visiting the Roman city of Nimes featuring its
great amphitheatre, gardens and the Maison
Carée (square house).
On to the largest free
standing Roman aqueduct in Europe, the Pont du Gard
for lunch.
This afternoon we visit
the fortified medieval hill town of Les Baux de
Provence.

Day 6 |
Paris Board Europe’s
fastest train, the TGV, and enjoy the splendid
countryside on the way to Paris. Transfer to our hotel
ready to explore this exciting city.
This evening we go to the top of the Eiffel Tower
for a 'bird's eye view' of the city!

Day 7 |
Paris
Today we will have the perfect introduction to Paris, a
city sightseeing tour led by our local guide. We will
see Napoleon’s grand Arc de Triomphe, the famous
Champs Elysées, Place de la Concorde,
magnificent Place Vendome and tour with a visit
Notre Dame cathedral.
After lunch a visit is included to the Louvre
Museum. A Mecca for art lovers, the renowned collection
includes Da Vinci’s masterpiece the Mona Lisa.
This evening a romantic
Seine River Cruise is included.

Day 8 |
Paris
Our day
commences with a visit to a palace that truly
illustrates the wealth of pre-revolutionary France,
Louis XIV’s Versailles. Our tour takes us through
the 250 foot long hall of mirrors and the royal
apartments to the magnificent gardens and Marie
Antoinette’s Petit Hameau.
This afternoon we will have time to explore the wonders
of Paris further.
